Khelo India Youth Games to have Dream Sports as partner

Sports technology company Dream Sports has announced that it has extended its partnership with Khelo India Youth Games (KIYG). This is the second year of Dream Sports association as co-sponsor of the event.

The event is a major initiative launched by the government in 2018 along with the Sports Authority of India. Its 2022 edition will be held in eight cities of Madhya Pradesh from the end of the month till mid-February, and will host over 6000 young athletes.

Bhavit Sheth, co-founder and chief operating officer of the firm, said, “Through this partnership, we hope to continue to work towards our common goal of nurturing India’s sports ecosystem and empowering our budding athletes Will encourage you to take the games forward.”

A Sports Authority of India spokesperson said, “The mission of the Khelo India Youth Games is to provide a platform to talented and capable young athletes to pursue a career in sports. Sports Authority of India welcomes them as partners.”

Khelo India Youth Games is one of the biggest and premier sports events of India. It aims to promote sports at the grassroots level and further strengthen the sports culture of the country by reaching out to the youth. This tournament plays an important role for the athletes to perform bigger and better and bring laurels to India on international sporting platforms.

In November 2021, DreamSports raised $840 million from Falcon Edge, DST at a valuation of $8 billion and also saw participation from TPG and Pavement Ventures. It houses brands such as Dream11, a fantasy sports platform, Fancode, a digital sports company, Dream Capital, a CVC and M&A arm, and DreamSetGo, a sports experience platform.
