Madras High Court order on ‘Jai Bheem’ controversy ‘No strict action should be taken against Surya and team’

Jai Bhim Controversy: The Tamil film ‘Jai Bhim’, released in the year 2021, is one of the most talked about and popular films of that year. Although the film was not released in theaters but on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video. This film had left a deep impression in the hearts of the people, although even after so much popularity, the film was caught in a controversy. A case was registered against actor Surya, director TJ Gnanavel and actress Jyothika for showing a community in a wrong way. But now there is a relief news for director TJ Gnanavel and actor Suriya.

The matter was heard in the Madras High Court on July 18, in which the court has ordered that no coercive steps should be taken against Surya and his team till the next hearing. Justice Satishkumar heard the matter and adjourned the hearing on the petition of Surya and Gyanvel on the Jai Bhim case. Now the next hearing of the case will be done on July 21. According to the order of the court, till then no strict action will be taken against any member of the team including Surya, Jyothika and Gyanvel.

What was the controversy?
In fact, the film depicts shocking tortures against the community. The film showed how a policeman brings people of a particular community to the police station for questioning in a false case and then tortures them. Apart from this, people also objected to the scene when Prakash Raj was shown slapping a Hindi-speaking person. A lot of threats were also given to Surya regarding this dispute.
