"You want a guy like that" - Corey LaJoie's performance at Atlanta praised by Jeff Gordon

Corey Lajoie almost won the victory of the Maiden Cup series at Atlanta

Motor Speedway but in an effort to pass Chase Elliott, he lost control in turn 1 and crashed into the wall.

The move destroyed the afternoon and put the driver of Spire Motorsports to the 121st place.

Lajoie, however, made an impression on many people with his approach and performance,

one of which was a former racer Nascar Jeff Gordon who praised the 30 -year -old driver's efforts.

During the interview after the Hendrick Motorsports race, Gordon said that he liked Lajoie's attitude,

encouragement, and passion that he showed throughout the 400 mile race.

He continued by saying that the way the race ended for Lajoie was very unfortunate,

but his team and #7 Chevrolet showed many things.

Gordon said:

"I like Corey's attitude and I like the encouragement.

He has a lot of passion, and he shows that today.

It is unfortunate that the way ended for him, but I thought he and the team and car showed many things today.

You know, you want a man like that who has a genealogy he has,

has the desires he has and with a work ethic to get the opportunity he is looking for. "

He continued by saying:

"It's great to watch them racing hard but also competing together.

I somewhat hope it can be 1-2, not in the end.

He has been around for a long time and knows the ups and downs, and his appearance will do more for him today than the results. "
