Nascar has released a 2023 schedule for the Cup series, which includes the first street circuit race in Chicago.

The 75th season of stock car racing will consist of 36 races, on short lanes and road courses,

 including Chicago Street Race on July 2, while North Wilkesboro Speedway in North Carolina r

eturned to the calendar for the first time since 1996 with all--- Star race on May 21.

The trophy series will be brought to the track for the annual pre-season race in Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on February 5,

 before the qualification race for the Daytona 500 on Thursday, February 16,

 with the 65th running from the opening race of the season to the 19 February.

The Nascar Cup Series playoff will begin at the Darlington Raceway on September 3, with the final season will take place on November 5.

Senior Vice President Nascar Race Development and Strategy Ben Kennedy described the calendar next year as diverse.

"When we are preparing to celebrate our 75th birthday, we are committed to giving a schedule 

that recognizes a deep history and sports tradition while building a brave future 

that brings the best race in the world to new markets and new fans," Kennedy said.

"Schedule 2023 is a product of sustainable collaboration in all of our industries and partners.

"We are very proud of what our sport will offer next season and eager to celebrate 

this milestone season with the most diverse track compilation in Motorsports."

Meanwhile, the 2022 NASCAR playoff continued this weekend with a night race at Bristol Motor Speedway on September 17.
