These IPL biggies will bid for Women’s IPL 2023 teams


The Indian Premier League (IPL) for women will see a bidding war between at least eight of the 10 IPL clubs in the men’s league. The franchises and winning cities for the Women’s IPL will be announced by the BCCI on January 25, when it opens the sealed bids.

According to ESPNcricinfo, defending IPL champions Gujarat Titans, Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals and others will all make offers.

The two remaining IPL teams, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Supergiants, are yet to reveal whether they have bought the tender document or whether they will participate in the bidding for the five-team women’s IPL that is slated to begin in March.

Apart from IPL clubs, several organizations have bought the tender document, which was made available for purchase by the BCCI from January 3. BCCI and Mumbai-based law firm Argus Partners must receive technical bids by January 23 to be considered. January 13 was the last date to submit their queries for bidders willing to participate in the process.

An organization can bid for multiple cities as BCCI has identified 10 Indian cities and venues in the contract. Offers will be accepted for a period of ten years (2023-32), and there is no fixed base price.

According to the BCCI, one of the qualifications listed in the tender document is that the bidder should have an audited net worth of at least Rs 1,000 crore as on March 31, 2022. Companies engaged in joint partnership or consortium are not eligible. BCCI.
